Iowa Legislature votes to end voluntary diversity plans at schools

Five Iowa school districts could no longer weigh factors like a student's socioeconomic status or English language learner status to prioritize open enrollment requests, according to a bill headed to Gov. Kim Reynolds' desk.  The Iowa House voted 56-37 Tuesday to end the voluntary diversity plans that the districts use to maintain diversity in their enrollment.
