Britain's biggest banks are on the comeback trail, as the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on their balance sheets appear less than severe than originally feared. In their recent round of results, far from reporting spiralling losses on soured loans to business and households, Britain's big four banks either released money that had been set aside to cover coronavirus-related costs or reported a smaller-than-expected hit.
