Such is the question from tzaddikim—righteous individuals who pass away and request an audience with the mashiach. “Everything looks so bleak.” The mashiach responds, “You want me to come. Fine. But if I come now, there are those among the Jewish people who will not merit to see the Future World.” So, the tzaddikim–righteous ones opt for a delay. Only G-d knows when each of us will deserve it, will have fulfilled his mission, his tikkun—rectification of Creation.
