Parity with each you know, each passing year. however after the pandemic, the social unrest um the reallocation of funds we didn t hire, um in 2021. so instead of hiring approximately 500, we hired 79. so we went from having over 10,000 officers on the department to now we re under 9300. so we have big goals and big numbers we have to make up for and we feel that it s programs and incentives like this. that s going to help us get there and again. this problem is not just going to city of los angeles. this is a national problem. agencies across the nation are faced with this same issue, and they re trying to come up with some kind of incentives to get more candidates interested to come in. absolutely that it s tough. however we have plenty of people that want this job plenty people who are interested in being a police officer and want to serve the community, so i m very encouraged and look forward to ....
