El tema genera sentimientos encontrados desde que el presidente Nayib Bukele hiciera el anuncio de un inédito aumento del 20 por ciento al salario mínimo, que entrará en vigor a partir del próximo 1 de agosto.
Por un lado, está la inevitable alegría de engrosar la economía doméstica, que en algunos sectores representaría hasta 60 dólares más, un plus significativo en tiempos de crisis y pandemia, y mucho mayor que el alza previa, aprobada en 2017.
