The New Mexico Department of Health has updated the statewide COVID-19 map for the next two-week period beginning Dec. 16, with all 33 counties at the Red Level. The majority of counties — 27 out of 33 — improved in at least one of the two health gating criteria metrics, and 23 improved in both metrics, underscoring an improving COVID-19 outlook across the state. Valencia County’s per capita case count dropped to 96.3 from Dec. 1 through 14, from 124.10 when it was measured for the two weeks ending on Nov. 30.
