SBMA seeks partners for Redondo development – Manila Bulletin

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) is looking for partners in the Redondo Peninsula, which development is expected to open a new wave of economic activities in the area.
At the virtual Business and Investment Climate webinar by the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation Inc. (SEIPI), SBMA manager Karen Magno said the development of Redondo Peninsula will open more industries, such as renewable energy, industrial parks, and other support activities for the freeport locators. 
“Of course, we would like to invite everyone. If you know someone who would like to be in partnership with SBMA for the development of the bridge and Redondo to open up new opportunities we will be very happy to discuss the details with you,” said Magno. ....

Green energy group hopeful Meralco will exit Atimonan coal project

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, April 30) The Power for People Coalition (P4P) is optimistic the proposed coal-fired power plant of the Manila Electric Company in Atimonan, Quezon will not push through.
This, as an energy consortium pulled out from financing the 660-megawatt Subic coal project which is under Redondo Peninsula Energy Inc. (RP Energy). It is a joint venture between Meralco’s generation arm Meralco PowerGen, Aboitiz Power Corporation, and Taiwan Cogeneration Corp.
We hope the shelving of the Subic project means Meralco is finally starting to see sense and would soon have more coal cancellations to announce, Gerry Arances, convenor of P4P, said in a statement. ....
