Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is beginning a new phase of accessibility and park improvements to Gateway Green, the hiking and off-road cycling park at the confluence of I-84 and I-205 in East Portland.
Portland, Ore.––Construction on TriMet’s A Better Red MAX Extension and Reliability Improvements Project will close the Gateway Transit Center to MAX trains for six weeks starting Sunday, Jan. 14. With the MAX Blue, Green and Red lines impacted, shuttle buses will serve closed stations through the end of the disruption on Feb. 25. TriMet will also use this opportunity to perform reliability improvements to the MAX system along Interstate 84 and just east of the transit center.

TriMet is warning Portlanders of an upcoming 126-day disruption to the MAX Red Line.
This will be the longest shut down of the A Better Red project. No Red line MAX trains from Gateway to PDX
The project to improve the MAX Red Line will cause it to be closed for four months starting June 18.
