18 th December 2020 9:14 am What a year it has been. As 2020 approached there seemed such optimism for not only the new year but the new decade. There were still challenges to contend with but no one realised just how difficult a year it would be. The coronavirus crisis has been devastating to watch unfold as families have lost their loved ones and in many cases had no chance to say goodbye. But not only has the pandemic been a worry to our health it has also had a severe impact on our economy, something which we are likely to feel for many years to come.
Underscored enough is the importance of these commemorations and research and the stories and the books like those of tom's that have been put out there and as a parent i just want to share a story. i took my children right to where you are, the american cemetery there a number of years ago, and it was a gray misty day and you know the huge relief maps that you have there on that beautiful plaza, my son was maybe 6 or 7 years old, and i tried to explain to him what these relief maps were what they indicated and represented, and then tried to explain to him what that sea of crosses laid out in ...
