Report: Peak price of transferable development rights fell to $1.25M in 2023
The sales prices of transferable development rights soared past $1 million in Pitkin County this year. The latest transaction was for $1.8 million. TDRs are tied to the county’s effort to limit development in the backcountry.
A straw poll by the Pitkin County commissioners Wednesday indicated they would grant approval to Aspen Skiing Co.’s long-sought expansion into the Pandora’s terrain. The board did not take a formal vote, and instead, county commissioners and staff will meet to hammer out details on formal approval documents and it will be back on the Nov. 17 agenda for the vote.
Aspen Skiing Co. officials will go back before the Pitkin County commissioners Wednesday to try to gain approval for the expansion of Aspen Mountain ski area into the Pandora’s terrain on the mountain’s upper east side.
