2 Charged Over Forged Bank Guarantee

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Police s Crime Branch on Saturday filed a chargesheet against two accused in a seven-year-old case related to issuance of a forged bank guarantee bond for an amount of Rs 1 crore fraudulently to a New Delhi-based businessman, an official said.
The chargesheet was filed against Vishal Mahajan of Jammu and Vinay Mittal of Delhi in the passenger tax court here for judicial determination, a spokesperson of the crime branch said.
He said a written complaint was lodged by branch manager of the J-K Bank, R S Pura branch, Vijay Kumar in the crime branch Jammu in 2014. ....

Young Woman, Minor Son Found Dead In South Kashmir's Kokernag

Srinagar- A young woman and her minor son reportedly died due to suffocation in Kokernag area of south Kashmir s Anantnag district on Saturday.
Official sources said that mother-son were found dead at their home in Soaf Shali village of Kokernag early this morning, reported news agency KNO.
The deceased have been identified Ishrat Jan (23) wife of Shabir Ahmad Nahar and her son Musaib (02)
They said that the duo was rushed to nearby SDH Kokernag, however, doctors present there, declared them dead on arrival
Meanwhile, a police official confirming the incident said that they are ascertaining the cause of death, although it seems that the duo has died of suffocation. ....

HC Quashes Sedition Charges Against Ladakh Councillor

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court has quashed criminal proceedings against a councillor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Kargil Zakir Hussian who was arrested last year and charged with sedition and other offences for his audio clip mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Army in the wake of the face-off between India and China in Ladakh.
