Arising from its National Convention held in Nnewi, Anambra state, on Wednesday, the Labour Party took a jab at President Bola Tinubu, saying that grabbing power is not what matters but what is done with it. Members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and their counterparts in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party have had a bitter rivalry following the 2023 presidential election won by Tinubu.

  The Labour Party has reserved its ticket for the 2027 presidential election for Peter Obi. Obi, a former Anambra State governor, was the party’s presidential candidate in 2023. He came third in the election, losing to Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second in the poll.
