>> depending on your point of view, the gop tax bill is either a miracle or armageddon, but its passage is energizing the party and the president. as republicans celebration, critics wonder what the tax overhaul will mean for federal health programs, such as medicare. let's bring in francis rooney of florida. representative, thanks for taking time to speak with us. you voted for the overhaul. why do you think this bill will benefit the people in your district, the middle class folks in your district specifically? >> well, i enthusiastically voted for it. i think aarp ought to give the republican majority a big award for creating tax treatment that's going to stimulate capital investment, make their retirement accounts perform better. ultimately it's going to get us back to the kind of growth that americans expect and not the euro type of 1%, 1.5% growth we've been accustomed to.
