Key findings include: Worries about COVID-19 have increased since last May, with more Californians now concerned about getting the coronavirus and requiring hospitalization. COVID and homelessness as well as jobs, the economy, and inflation are the top issues Californians want the governor and legislature to work on in 2022. Fewer than four in ten think the nation is headed in the right direction, while more are optimistic about the state’s outlook. As concerns about a recession recede, one in five Californians say that rising prices have caused severe hardship.
