Construction on a $20 million apartment hotel in Mount Maunganui will restart next month after Covid delays pushed the project a year behind schedule.
The Quest Mount Maunganui development is on the corner of Rata
St and Maunganui Rd, which was previously occupied by the Breakers cafe and bar for more than a decade.

Greece, Libya Agree To Restart Talks On Maritime Zones
News follows Libyan premier on Monday confirming validity of 2019 maritime boundaries pact with Turkey.
Greece and Libya have agreed to resume talks on the delimitation of maritime zones, a statement from Athens confirmed on Wednesday.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Mohamed al-Menfi, the head of Libya s Presidential Council visiting the Greek capital, agreed on the immediate resumption of talks between Greece and Libya on the delimitation of maritime zones, said a statement by the prime minister s office.
Thanking al-Menfi for Libya s positive approach, Mitsotakis said that all foreign troops should withdraw from Libya. ....

United Airlines Holdings Inc. will resume pilot hiring as the carrier sees signs of a sales recovery amid expanding U.S. vaccination campaigns.
The carrier will begin with 300 pilots who received a conditional job offer last year or had a new-hire class that was canceled, Bryan Quigley, senior vice president of flight operations, told employees Thursday. The decision followed a year in which airlines slashed payrolls through retirement and voluntary leave offers while depending on billions of dollars in federal payroll aid.
The need for new pilots stems from vaccination rates increasing and travel demand trending upwards,” Quigley said in a memo. Whether United continues adding pilots will depend on further recovery from the collapse in demand caused by the coronavirus pandemic. ....
