Her Home and Away character Roo’s life hangs in the balance after being blown up by a bomb planted by a corrupt skincare company. It’s heavy stuff, but Georgie insists it’s all in a day’s work.

Home and Away star Georgie Parker recently announced she is leaving the show for an extended break to pursue her theatre dreams. 

Veteran Home & Away actress, Lynne McGranger has starred in the Aussie soap for 30 years. However, Lynne has revealed how she’d like her character, Irene Roberts, to leave Home & Away and it’s extremely “dramatic”. “I want to go with the biggest bang, the most dramatic exit. I want to get lost at sea, or I want to die a really sad, lengthy death with everyone weeping and wailing around me,” Lynne recently said.

Georgie Parker has caught Home and Away fans – and her castmates – by surprise with the sad news she’s making a sudden exit from the long-running Aussie soap. Having played Ruth ‘Roo’ Stewart since 2010, the actress will disappear from our screens in August to take an extended break.
