Born in Rockland Dec. 9, 1945, she was the daughter of Dennis and Martha Cassidy Ames. Pat grew up in Rockland and later in Bath, where she attended boarding school. Later, Pat returned to Rockland where she married Robert Poland Sr. Together, they had three children but later divorced.
