CHARLESTON — One polling place in Charleston and another in Mattoon will open on Thursday, Feb. 8, to begin taking early votes for candidates in the March 19 primary election.
Three incumbents are only candidates to file for six Coles County Board districts seats.
The filing period for Coles County candidates is scheduled to continue through 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4.
CHARLESTON — Andrew McDevitt, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital, has been appointed to the Coles County Board to fill Lisa Jaco’s vacant District 6 seat.
The Coles County Board announced a vacant seat after Lisa Jaco, representative for District 6, is moving out of state for "family" reasons. At the next County Board meeting, the Board will approve and announce the replacement chosen by the Republican party.
