Diane Gerdy Iman was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. Diane attended Ricks College (now BYU–Idaho) where she received an associate degree in Elementary Education. After her mission to the Czech Republic, Diane attended BYU where she studied for a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and worked as a secretary in the Religion Department on campus.
