(Latvian Public Broadcasting) On 4–5 May 2021, the United Nations Science, Technology and Innovation Forum convened in a virtual session co-chaired by the Permanent Representative of Latvia to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Andrejs Pildegovičs, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of Indonesia to the United Nations, Ambassador Mohammad Koba, the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a release. The Science, Technology and Innovation Forum brought together representatives from governments, the UN system and other international organisations, the private sector, non-governmental organisations as well as scientists, researchers and innovators. The program was launched March 8 by Latvia s first lady, Andra Levite, at the opening of the Riga TechGirls and Latvian Investment and Development Agency international hackathon ‘Women. Technology. The pandemic has impacted everyone around the globe, however, there is evidence to suggest women have experienced a different set of hardships – having to shoulder even more responsibilities at work and home than before, said Levite.
