Oak Harbor girls basketball got a big win last week, coming from behind to defeat perennial powerhouse Clyde, 46-42, in overtime.
Her athletic and professional careers were quite impressive. A state volleyball championship, numerous hall of fame inductions, two advanced degrees and a meaningful career as a teacher. It was all part of Melissa Belcher’s resume as a volleyball player, coach and teacher.
Genoa started strong under first-year coach Glenn Black, defeating Maumee 52-32 and Oak Harbor 53-33, but losing to a much-improved Fostoria squad, 59-47. More than anything, Black just wants to see his team make gradual progress.
