As the 2022 Oscar nominations were announced on Tuesday, Delhi-based filmmaker duo Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh-directed 'Writing with Fire' has been nominated for the Best Documentary Feature award, which is India's first entry in this category.
'Writing With Fire', which was hailed by 'The Washington Post' has become the first Indian documentary feature to get an Oscar nomination.
Directed by Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh, both debuants, Writing With Fire chronicles the rise of Khabar Lahariya, India's only newspaper run by Dalit women.
