The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on January 17 issued orders suspending Ranganathan from service, pending probe.
The CBI has arrested Gas Authority of India Ltd director ES Ranganathan and five other persons in connection with an alleged corruption case.
The CBI has so far recovered Rs 1.3 crore in cash from Ranganathan's premises. The agency has so far arrested five persons but Ranganathan has not yet been taken into custody.
