Waynesboro Record Herald Franklin County residents have an opportunity to help out people in their community and many local restaurants this week. The South Central Community Action Program is hosting a virtual auction and celebration this week, with almost 200 items up for auction. The page can be found here. One sizeable part of the auction is gift cards for local restaurants. Usually, restaurants would donate the gift cards to auctions, but in the midst of the pandemic, SCCAP had to find another way. We knew that we couldn t go to restaurants who are having such a hard time and ask them to donate gift cards, so we created a couple sponsorship opportunities where our sponsors supported our restaurants by purchasing gift cards and then putting them into our auction, Cheryl Brown, resource development director, said.
