Rita Faye and Jon Andrew Stewart of Little Rock will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 28 with a small private gathering at their home. The couple were married Dec. 29, 1973. She is the former Rita Courson and a retired pharmacist. He retired from business and finance. They are the parents of Brittany Smith of Little Rock, Mandy Gifford of Dallas and Jeff Stewart of Fayetteville. They have eight grandchildren.

Facebook Share Authorities have released the name of a woman who was killed when her vehicle slammed into a parked tractor-trailer on Interstate 59/20 Friday afternoon in Jefferson County. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the woman as Rita Faye Thomas. She was 37 and lived in Vance. Authorities said the 18-wheeler was stopped on the shoulder when Thomas’ Kia Soul left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed into the truck. Almost a third of the vehicle was crushed under the truck’s trailer.
