Joezzie Rivera De Leon arrested in massage parlor robbery


A woman who reported a robbery at a Fayetteville massage parlor earlier this month told the dispatcher the man had a gun and said he was the police before tying her up and stealing money, the 911 call released this week reveals. 
Joezzie Rivera De Leon, 35, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, common law robbery and possession of stolen goods in the incident April 1 at Massage & Therapy, 2033 Hope Mills Road, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
De Leon was a detention officer at the Cumberland County jail from November until April, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Lt. Sean Swain said. He said that De Leon was “fired for policy violation.”

Detention officer charged in robbery of Fayetteville massage parlor


A St. Pauls man who worked for at least five months as a jailer for the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office was arrested by police earlier this month on allegations he robbed a Fayetteville massage parlor.
Joezzie Rivera De Leon, 35, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, common law robbery and possession of stolen goods, court records show.
He was arrested at 10:48 p.m. April 1 at the Fayetteville Police Department — about nine hours after a 51-year-old female employee at Massage & Therapy, 2033 Hope Mills Road, was threatened, police records show. The incident report indicates the suspect took personal items, opened a register and threatened, implied or showed a weapon.
