The announcement from U.S. Steel in January that it would build a $3 billion “next generation” companion mill to its Big River Steel plant in Mississippi County kick-started a robust year for manufacturing in Arkansas.
Olympus Construction, based in Jonesboro, announced it has officially broken ground on Riverback Estates, an estimated $30 million housing development project in Mississippi County. Several gathered to commemorate the milestone during the groundbreaking ceremony at its location in Osceola on Nov. 15.
The 100-home development is expected to help address growing demand for housing as the manufacturing industry grows in Mississippi County.
