'Farmers Unite Against Repression, Protests Cross Caste and Religion Boundaries'

‘Farmers Unite Against Repression, Protests Cross Caste and Religion Boundaries’
AIKS chief Dhawale writes
In the wake of the sponsored conspiracy of violence on Republic Day,the Modi regime has begun a massive crackdown on the historic farmers’ struggle, which will soon complete 75 days. The government and its police have now turned the three farmers’ protest sites at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur into open jails. The ‘annadatas’ of our country are being treated as foreign invaders. No other central government in independent India has ever done this near the national capital itself.
But it is a glorious tribute to this unprecedented farmers’ struggle that it has not only withstood this multi-fanged state repression, but has in fact increased its defiant resistance massively over the last one week.

Farmer unions announce nationwide chakka jam on February 6, threaten to block state, national highways

Feb 02, 2021, 12:27 PM IST
NEW DELHI: Farmer unions on Monday (February 2) announced a countrywide 'chakka jam' on February 6 when they would block national and state highways for three hours in protest against the internet ban in areas near their agitation sites, harassment allegedly meted out to them by authorities and other issues.
Union leaders told a press conference at the Singhu Border, on the Haryana side, that they will block the roads between 12 pm to 3 pm on February 6. They also alleged that farmers have been "ignored" in the Union Budget 2021-22, and water and power supply have been curtailed, and mobile toilet blocks being removed, at their protest venues.
