The 4th Annual Sheridan Rotary Club Ice Fishing Derby is scheduled for this weekend at Lake DeSmet, but there has been some concern that the warm weather this winter means the ice might not be safe to fish on.

The Sheridan Rotary Club’s Second Annual Ice Fishing Derby at Lake DeSmet on Saturday, Feb. 26, was a huge success. It was a warm, sunny day and the cold snap the week before froze the ice deep, making it safe to be out on the lake.
The Rotary Clubs Second Annual Ice Fishing derby will be held on Saturday at Lake DeSmet. Several prizes will be awarded, $1,000 for longest fish in 4 categories (Trout, Kokanee Salmon, Walleye, Perch) with second and third prizes in each category as well.
