Exchange group Cboe is set to launch the One-day Volatility Index – or VIX1D – today (24 April).
The Cboe 1-Day Volatility Index opened at 8.55, compared with a reference point of 13.27 on Friday, surged as high as 9.88 before pulling back.
The new index is the first idea from Cboe Labs that will become reality.
The eight new indices complement the exchange group's existing three-month Implied Correlation Index.
