The US markets regulator SEC approved applications from Nasdaq, CBOE and NYSE to enable exchange traded funds holding Ether. They are yet not cleared to trade but a step has been taken in that direction.
"A week ago, I would've said you were a little crazy to think that these ETFs were going to get SEC approval," a Bloomberg analyst said.
Trading could begin later this year, as the ETF issuers sill have to get the green light before launching the products.
The SEC approved applications from Nasdaq, CBOE and NYSE to list ETFs tied to the price of ether.
