KATC Chief Meteorologist Rob Perillo announced on social media today (July 18, 2023) that he is celebrating 35 years of weather forecasting in Acadiana.
Acadiana will experience its sixth week of brutal temperatures and heat indices with highs continuing in the mid-upper 90s with heat indices reaching the 110-115° mark through Saturday.
Acadiana's forty day heat wave is expected to continue this week in spite of some scattered storms in the area Sunday into Monday.
Acadiana's more than a month long heat wave will continue through much of next week, but some scattered storms could break up the monotony Sunday and perhaps Monday afternoon and/or evening.
