Transit sites are short-term stopping place for the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community and differ from permanent sites which residential pitches longer term occupation. Six area heroes received the prestigious Phoenix Award Andrea Stetson When six local heroes received the prestigious Phoenix Award on Wednesday, it wasn’t about the honor or the certificate. It was about getting the word out to the public that they too can save lives. Five Bonita Bay employees and one bystander were honored by the Bonita Springs Fire Department for saving the life of a man that was going into cardiac arrest on March 10. All six had been trained in CPR and in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). They used that knowledge to save Rob White.
