April 18, 2021 Evansville, WI - Lawton "Luke" Short, 88, passed away April 18, 2021 at his home in Evansville, WI. He was born March 12, 1933 in Oneonta, NY to Raphael and hazel (Smith) Short. He married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Ann Hitchcock on December 31, 1953 in Oneonta, NY. She preceded him in death on August 23, 2020. They had celebrated 66 years of marriage. Luke enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 and spent 20 years serving our country. When he retired from the air Force in 1972, he moved his family to Evansville.
