New Covid mutant strain detected on outskirts of Chester

THE new and more infectious variant of Covid-19 has been detected on the outskirts of Chester, according to researchers. The Covid-19 Genomics UK (COG-UK) consortium sampled cases around the UK and found a case of the mutant strain in the village of Burton, near Dutton. A case has also been detected just over the border in Wrexham.
