Jones County woman marijuana appeals court new trial granted
A Jones County woman says the judge is at fault for not explaining what it means to represent herself during her 2019 trial and the North Carolina Court of Appeals agreed, allowing her a new trial possibly later this year. Linda Elizabeth Murrell was indicted in Nov. 2017 on charges of manufacturing marijuana and maintaining a dwelling “for keeping and selling” marijuana. She was found guilty in Jones County Superior Court in July 2019.
