With the turning of the calendar to a new year, the Saline County Board of Commissioners reorganized its leadership during its meeting Tuesday. Commissioner Rodger Sparks was selected as the board s new chairman, with Commissioner Jim Weese chosen as vice chairman. Commissioner Mike White made the motions to nominate both Sparks and Weese to their roles with 5-0 votes for both positions. White originally nominated outgoing chairman Bob Vidricksen as the secretary, but Vidricksen declined the nomination and in turn nominated White to the position. I ve been an officer for three years, Vidricksen said. Vidricksen noted it was time for a change in leadership for the commission. White was selected as the secretary by a 4-1 vote, with himself as the lone nay vote, to the laughter of his fellow commissioners. ....
