The Roeper School in Birmingham called the incident ‘a disturbing racial offense’
Biology students were given an assignment called 'an introduction to primates', which compared former President Barack Obama to apes, monkeys, and lemurs.
The Roeper School released a statement to Fox 2 on Tuesday saying it was reviewing the circumstances of the incident.
Students were asked to circle all of the 'endangered primates' listed on a worksheet that included a photo of Barack Obama.
Ohio's Colerain High School students were “issued significant disciplinary action” after posting a picture of the signs on social media.
