“It’s easy to see how many of them have been transformational in our community,” Tim Fitzgerald, vice president of economic development for Mohawk Valley EDGE said. “Having experienced a significant period of decline, I think we all recognize that we all need to be working on the same page, we all need to be helping out when and as possible.”
The Environmental Protection Agency is providing Brownfields Technical Assistance to Mohawk Valley EDGE to figure out how to reuse the old Rome Cable Tower, which is still standing more than a decade after the Rome Cable Corporation factory was torn down. EDGE said they have some ideas for the property, but would first like to hear other ideas from the public at large.
