Twenty-two people have died at a Basingstoke care home in one of the worst known outbreaks of the coronavirus pandemic to date, the Gazette can report.  The deaths occurred at Pemberley House Care Home in Grove Road, Viables, operated by private firm Avery Healthcare. The outbreak was first declared on Tuesday, January 5, with 60 per cent of its residents testing positive for the disease, according to sources. Hampshire County Council has been contacted for comment.  A spokesperson for the MHRA said there was no suggestion the deaths were linked to the vaccine, saying: “We are saddened to hear about any deaths which have occurred since receiving Covid-19 vaccination. TRIBUTES have been paid to a “heavy duty worker” who spent more than three decades of his life revolutionising the photography department of The Gazette. Ron Boshier initially joined this newspaper as a photographer when it was still known as the Hants & Berks Gazette, and his 31-year career saw him become Picture Editor.
