Volunteers clean 800 veterans' headstones on a mission to remember NJ's fallen soldiers
More than two dozen volunteers spent a morning at a cemetery plot estimated to date back to the 1700s. After two hours of cleaning one aging headstone, they could make out only the fallen veteran’s first name — Joseph. But, thanks to their hard work, the long-lost soldier was no longer anonymous.
