Retired U.S. Army soldier John Sullivan on Dec. 22 became the first veteran to receive a coronavirus vaccine at the VA Medical Center in Riviera Beach. While Sullivan is a resident of the VA s community living center, the hospital began vaccinating veterans 75 and older this week.
Having built a successful career after leaving the military, Donald Fleishman never turned to the VA Medical Center for help.
But with the coronavirus pandemic raging and vaccines hard to get, the 86-year-old West Palm Beach resident decided to join other veterans who are being offered inoculations at the sprawling VA Medical Center in Riviera Beach.
