After just over 24 hours since the fire at the Maple Crest Apartments in Tukwila first sparked, firefighters continue in their attempt to contain the flames.
Ross Helliwell has applied for planning permission to convert the C listed Institute Hall into the apartments. Drawings show there would be six two bedroom homes and one with a sole bedroom. The accommodation would be situated on the ground and upper floors of the vacant building. East Ayrshire Council is considering the planning application, which was validated last month.
