Rothay Bridge in Ambleside closed due to emergency repairs on A593
The A593 at Rothay Bridge, Ambleside, has been closed in both directions for emergency repairs. The bridge has been closed because of repairs from A593 Under Loughrigg to A593 Rothay Road, according to police. The bridge is expected to reopen after midday. As a result of the closure Stagecoach has implemented an emergency bus timetable. A Stagecoach spokesman said: “Due to emergency roadworks at Rothay Bridge, the 505 and 516 services are operating an emergency timetable. “There will be severe disruption to these routes." Repairs from the A593 Under Loughrigg to A5075 Borrans Road are now complete, according to police. As a result of the closure Stagecoach implemented an emergency bus timetable. A Stagecoach spokesman said: “Due to emergency roadworks at Rothay Bridge, the 505 and 516 services are operating an emergency timetable. “There will be severe disruption to these routes."
