During the farewell programme, CP expressed gratitude to his subordinates officers and staff, stating that during his tenure, ‘whatever little they have achieved is due to the cooperation and coordination’ of all the officers and staff. Restriction imposed in Lamhainamdi village, Chumou-Peren border belt; Sumi Hoho appeals for calm

Dimapur, Nov. 7 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Vineet Kumar has imposed Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), 1973 in Lamhainamdi village and adjoining areas of Peren district for maintaining public safety in the area. The Section 144 of CrPC prohibits assembly of five or more people and carrying of any lethal weapons and arms in the disputed Lamhainamdi village and adjoining areas. Under the law, anyone found violating the restriction can be booked for disobeying a public servant under Section 188. In another notification, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo had announced the imposition of Section 144 of CrPC along the Chumoukedima-Peren border area belt. The order prohibited assembly of not more than five persons, carrying lethal weapons and firearms including lathis, dagger, machete, sticks, spears, catapults or any other dangerous articles in the highway stretch from Vihuto village – Khehoyi village – Kiyevi village area and along the Chumoukedima — Peren border belt, with effect from 12 noon on Monday. Speaking at the event, Rio urged the police personnel to be vigilant, saying that drug trafficking is increasing in Sovima village though crime rate is low. He also asked the residents of the village to be supportive and cooperative by providing information to the police. Dimapur Police notifies public Dimapur, Nov. 1 (EMN): In view of the President’s visit to Nagaland on November 2 and 3, Dimapur Police has issued certain restrictions from 6 am on November 2 to 6 pm on November 3 within Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts. Our Reporter Dimapur, Sep. 21 (EMN): Coming from a culture of war, Naga women have been trained for generations to build and speak about peace, and so there is nothing stronger than women coming together and building peace in the community, stated Prof. Rosemary Dzuvichu, Advisor of Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) on Wednesday. She was speaking during the 15th Peace Knit Fest 2022-cum-Peace Channel Foundation Day and commemoration of International Day of Peace at Peace Centre, Chümoukedima. She was also conferred the Peace Award 2022, an annual award given to a peace activist in Nagaland. Nagaland Olympic: Shooting competition commences in Dimapur

Our Reporter Dimapur, Aug. 23 (EMN): The Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games, 2022, shooting competition kicked off on Tuesday here at the shooting range of Multi Disciplinary Sports Complex, with Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo, as special guest. A total of 68 participants from nine districts of Mon, Niuland, Zhunheboto, Phek, Kohima, Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Wokha and Tseminyu are taking part in the three-day event. The CP in his address said that if the players have determination and skills in shooting, they can even represent the country at international levels and challenged the participants to make use of the opportunity. Tetseo also said in sports such as shooting, Nagas can represent the country if they put in more efforts and concentration. He further said that unlike many other sports, shooting is purely an individual game and therefore with determination, hard work and discipline, an individual can win medals.

Senior citizen dies in another Dimapur road accident

Our ReporterDimapur, Aug. 20 (EMN): A 68-year-old man was killed in another hit-and-run case in Dimapur on Saturday morning, said the police. The deceased, identified as Marnüken from Chuchuyimlang village, was serving as a deacon at Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA). Commissioner of Police Dimapur (CP), Rothihu Tetseo told Eastern Mirror that the victim had gone for a walk along Golaghat road at around 5:30 am when a truck, speeding towards New Field check gate, hit him and drove away. Two Assam Rifles personnel, who were on duty, hailed an auto-rickshaw and chased the truck after witnessing the tragic incident. The driver was later apprehended near Amar mill and was handed over to the police, Tetseo informed. The victim was pronounced dead when the Dimapur police personnel took him to hospital. The Traffic police has taken over the case, the CP informed.
