Elaine McClure Black, 76, of Springtown, passed away on January 9, 2021 in Fort Worth. She was born November 18, 1944 in Coleman to Orin Wade ‘Butch’ McClure and Ruby Olene Bennett McClure. They remained in Coleman County until 1957 when a severe drought led them to Plainview, in search of better farming opportunities. Elaine attended Plainview junior high and high schools then married Joe Peters in 1961. They had two children, Mark and Michele, and operated a cotton gin until they moved to Arlington in 1968.
