An area city hall will be closed a few extra hours on the day before a couple of upcoming holidays. According to unofficial minutes from the Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen meeting, aldermen approved City Hall to be closed all day on Christmas Eve on December 24, and on New Year’s Eve on December 31. City Hall already was scheduled to be closed for half of each of those days. Aldermen voted to pay city employees for the half-day extra off on Christmas Eve, but employees will need to use accrued time off to get paid for the second half of New Year’s Eve.
