hello. just a few days left now of meteorological summer and the weather is looking a little bit mixed. we are going to see some late summer sunshine around, but there are also going to be some showers, particularly through the course of today. some of them could be heavy, potentially thundery in the east, but we are expecting a slightly drier and brighter day tomorrow as this area of high pressure in the atlantic starts to topple in. but what we've got today, we've got a front approaching here from the west and low pressure sitting out to the east of the uk. so heading through the day, then, we'll see heavy showers cropping up for parts of northern england through the east midlands, down towards the southeast. these could well be heavy, bringing some rumbles of thunder, lightning and some large hail. but things are looking a little bit drier for parts of central southern england into wales. we've got this frontal system bringing more cloud for the southwest of england, northern ireland and western scotland. patchy rain across this zone. but for the east of scotland,

hello, part one of the week has saw flashes of lightning. mostly heavy showers and thunderstorms who had through the rest of the day which will fade out through the evening in many ways of telling dryer with lengthy, clear skies and some cloud, one or two showers across western coast and later in the night we start to see this elephant working into western parts of northern ireland, that will bring outbreaks of rain here but under the clear skies, it will be fairly cool i think for the time of year. this weather front very slowly pushes its way eastwards across northern ireland, eventually crossing the irish sea where it will be a weak feature, no more than a band of clouds i think for northern ireland, sunday, we will see the cloud and light and patchy rain skipping in with scotland, england and wales seeing sunshine and showers with some of the heaviest across eastern scotland, eastern parts of england. some rumbles of thunder as well. top temperature

through the day will fade out this evening and many places to turn dry with lengthy, clear skies. still some cloud, one or two showers across some western coasts. later in the night, we'll start to see this weather front working into western parts of northern ireland. that'll bring outbreaks of rain here. but under the clear skies, it'll be fairly cool, i think, for the time of year. so, this weather front then very slowly pushes its way eastwards across northern ireland, eventually crossing the irish sea, where it'll be very weak featured, no more than a band of cloud. so i think for northern ireland for sunday, although it starts bright, will see the clouds build and a light and patchy rain will move in from the west through the day. for scotland, england and wales, it's a day of sunshine and showers and again, some of the heaviest showers will be across eastern scotland, eastern parts of england, with some rumbles of thunder, flashes of lightning there as well. top temperatures, 21 or 22 degrees. otherwise, it's the high teens for most. and expect a shower as well for part two of the weekend, both the reading and the leeds festival, some good sunny spells in between, temperatures around 19 or 20 celsius
