A new destination for pizza, stromboli and other Italian favorites has joined Quakertown’s restaurant roster.

People looking to fuel up on “Sizzli” breakfast sandwiches and “Shorti” hoagies while filling up their vehicles’ gas tanks will soon have a new spot to frequent in the Lehigh Valley.

Rising River Brewing, at 1955 Willow Lane in the East Texas section of Lower Macungie Township, offers Adirondack chairs, fire pits and even a swing in a tranquil setting that includes abundant grass, shrubs and trees along the Little Lehigh Creek. The brewery is operating via a tent in the property's parking lot until renovations on the taproom – housed in a 120-year-old barn – are complete in the next couple of months.

A destination for meatloaf, chicken croquettes and other homestyle favorites has returned after a year-long hiatus in Lehigh County.
