Short-term rental pause in Volusia County Florida enforcement draws suit
A 2011 Florida law prohibits cities and counties from regulating the length or frequency of stay in short-term rentals, but grandfathered in regulations already codified. Volusia County's rules haven't changed since 2004, so it was allowed to remain in effect. Rentals of less than 30 days are regulated under Volusia County’s hotel/motel zoning rule.
